In progress
Ready, but not in the app yet. It comes with the next update.- New: Snapkin is in the App Store. The buttons on the website now take you straight to the App Store or Google Play.
- New: On iPhone, Settings has a "Rate Snapkin" button.
- New: Pages that compare Snapkin with MyFitnessPal, Cal AI, Cronometer, Lose It! and YAZIO, in every language: compare the apps.
- New: Had it before? Tap +, then "Usual meal". Your likely meals are waiting, with their photos. Tap one and it is logged again, with the same numbers as last time. How it knows what you eat.
- New: "Your dishes" in the menu keeps every meal you eat. Give one your own name, a note or a picture, or fix its portion once.
- New: Open a meal to see all its nutrients, not only the big four. You see sugar, fibre, saturated fat, salt and minerals like iron and calcium.
- New: We tested Snapkin on 500 meals weighed on a scale. It reaches 83% median accuracy per meal, which means a typical meal lands within 17% of the real calories, and 90% over a week. See the results.
- Better: The subscription screen now says the plan renews by itself, and what the free days turn into.
- Better: Settings has a way to email us, and links to the privacy policy and the terms.
- Better: Your profile says whether your plan renews every month or every year.
- Better: The setup now shows how accurate a photo is from our own test on 499 weighed meals: about 83% for one meal, 90% over a week.
- Better: Where the app explains its numbers, the studies now open inside the app.
- Better: On a phone, the website only shows the store for your phone.
- Better: When you open the add menu, the page behind it goes soft and darker, and the tabs and the chat button step aside. Only the four ways to add a meal stay sharp.
- Better: Everything behind a pop-up is a little darker, so the pop-up stands out more.
- Better: Editing a meal is calmer. Tap an ingredient to open it, then change how much you ate with a slider. 0.5×, 1×, 1.5× or 2× is one tap. Your phone ticks as you slide.
- Better: A meal without a photo now shows a small picture of the kind of meal it was, instead of a pencil.
- Better: The menu now shows how many memories and dishes you have, and how many rewards you have earned.
- Better: Sugar is split in two: natural sugar and added sugar.
- Better: Add or rename a food yourself, and Snapkin works out its nutrients too.
- Better: The price on the subscription screen now says that tax is included.
- Better: On iPhone, the app now says "Apple Health" when it asks to read your weight and steps.
- Better: On a meal you shared, the "Stop sharing" button is now easier to see.
- Better: Snapkin only asks for a rating right after a meal comes back, never when you just opened the app.
- Better: "Rate Snapkin" moved from Settings to the menu, under "Share Snapkin".
- Better: After you share a meal, the app shows your link right away. The share button then says "Shared", and tapping it lets you copy the link or stop sharing. A shared meal also shows a small globe in your day.
- Fixed: The Restore purchases button no longer disappears when the prices fail to load.
- Fixed: Making an ingredient without a weight smaller no longer sets its calories to zero.
- Fixed: When you correct a meal and the reply says it changed something, the numbers now really change.
- Fixed: The privacy policy now names the AI services that really read your meals, and where they run.
- Fixed: The photo at the top of a meal is sharp again, not blurry and blocky.
