Delete your account

You can delete your Snapkin account yourself, from inside the app, without asking anybody and without explaining why. It is immediate and it is not reversible.

From inside the app

  1. Open Snapkin and go to Menu → Profile.
  2. At the bottom, choose Delete your account.
  3. Type your email address to confirm, and your password if you have one set. That step exists so a borrowed phone cannot delete your account for you.

What gets deleted

Everything the account holds is deleted, not hidden:

  • Your profile: name, email address, password, and your body details.
  • Every meal, every ingredient, every question and answer, and every message about a meal.
  • Every meal photograph, deleted from storage, not left behind.
  • Your entire weight history.
  • Everything the app had learned about how you eat.
  • Your coach conversations.
  • Your signed-in devices.
  • There is nothing to disconnect for Apple Health or Health Connect. There was never an account linked. The permission lives in your phone's own settings. You can turn it off there. Snapkin read one thing from it and stored it: your weight. That goes with the rest of your account.
  • If you signed in with Apple, we tell Apple to disconnect that sign-in as part of the deletion.

Only one thing is kept after the account is gone: a record of how much computing each meal analysis used, and what it cost us. Nothing in it points at you. Your subscription record goes with the account. Apple or Google keep their own record of what you paid them.

Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription. Apple and Google hold the subscription. So you have to cancel it where you bought it: in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Do that first. Otherwise you will keep being charged for an account that no longer exists.

If you cannot get into the app

Email hello@getsnapkin.app from the address on the account, with “Account deletion request” as the subject. We will check it is you. Then we delete the account and confirm when it is done. That takes at most 30 days, and normally much less.

Just want your data out first?

Choose Email me my data on the same Profile screen before you delete. You get a link to a zip file. It holds every meal, photograph and number on the account. The link works for a week.
